Week 4: Introduction
Unit 4 of the English for Career
Development, through the several video lectures and reading section, we will
learn about the importance of networking and how to deliver a networking
elevator speech appropriately
Unit 1: Getting Started with
Networking
This unit teach us what networking
is? And why it is important in our career development. In summary, we learn
that networking is connecting with other people to talk about job openings and career
goals. We also learn how to increase our network by joining organizations and
using social media websites. The rest of this unit, we also learn how making a
small talk is relevant to networking and ultimately finding a job.
Unit 2: All About the Elevator
Speech
This unit will discuss what to say
when you are networking, as already explained what networking was in the
previous unit, now in this unit we will learn how to prepare and practice
networking elevator speech. Which is a short description of skills and career
goals. For the second video lectures we will focus on the pronunciation and
delivery of a networking elevator speech.
