English for Career Development
This course helps us to learn about the necessary steps in
the US job application process will help you become a successful job seeker.
This week will be 3 units, we will look through video lectures and reading,
after that they will give us a quiz to check how far you’re understanding with
the course.
Week 1: Introduction to the course and unit
This unit show us the overview of the course from week 1
that will divide by 2 units which contain; your profile as a job seeker and key
skills for the job search.
Unit 1: Your Profile as a Job Seeker
This unit will explain about how to make a list of your
interest and skills through the video lectures, from the same video lectures they
will also talk about three types of skills, things you do, things you know and
ways you act. The purpose of this unit to helps you knowing your interests and
skills that support you to choose the career that best for you.
Unit 2: Key Skills for the Job Search
This unit will focus at the language present simple and
present progressive. This two language will help you to talk about your job
skills and to prepare you for the job search process. From the video lectures,
we will examine each of these tenses when we use them and practice their forms.
New vocabulary to learn:

Contrast: to talk about ways two things are
different
2.
Resume: A written document of work experience,
education and skills
3. Employer: the person making the decision to give the applicant a job
