Week 3:
Introduction
This unit
will teach us about how to write for job application that requires a specific
style and voice. Moreover, this unit teach a job seeker to understand how to
write clearly and concisely.
Unit 1:
Overview of Cover Letters
In this
third part of the application process from the video lectures we will taught to
professional letter writing. From the video lectures we will know there are
three main reasons to write a cover letter, furthermore from this unit will
teach us how to write a clear and organized cover letter.
Unit 2: How
to Write a Cover Letters
The video
lectures from this unit will teach us as the first paragraph how to use your
cover letter to introduce yourself to an employer. The rest of the video
lectures we are taught about the important things that must be written in our
cover letter in the first paragraph. Furthermore, for the second paragraph we
will know how to highlight our skills and qualifications in the cover letter. In
this paragraph two in the body of the cover letter, you will summarize two or
three examples from your education, experience, and interests to show a future
employer how you are qualified for the job. The third paragraph, tell how they
will follow up with the application and leave the reader with positive
impression and last we will learn two tenses in English; simple past and
present perfect.
Unit 3: More
Advice for Writing Cover Letters
From the video
lectures in unit 3, we’re going to talk about the level of formality in your
cover letter. We’ll discuss why we need to think about formality as we write it
and look at some of the differences between formal and informal tone or style
in a cover letter. From the second video lectures, we’re going to learn about
using modal verbs to be politer, it is important that job seekers are direct
and honest, but also respectful and polite.
